Steve Browning Band
The Steve Browning Band creates a modern blues style, mixing a solid blues sound with elements of jazz, funk and rock. The band has played at many venues in the U.K. and performed at festivals, including the Gloucester and Upton Blues Festivals.
STEVE BROWNING – Guitar and Vocals. Steve has performed at major festivals such as Glastonbury and Womad with African drummer Ben Baddoo, and has played in Europe with The Michael Roach Band and Patsy Gamble. He has performed with his own band at the Gloucester and Upton Blues Festivals, and the Cheltenham Jazz Festival. He was also a member of the Tubby Blues Club house band in Cheltenham, playing alongside major British and American blues artists.
MARK BUTLER – Bass Guitar. Mark was active in the alternative rock scene in New York, performing regularly at legendary clubs CBGB’s and The Knitting Factory, as well as many other venues in the U.S. More recently he has played many U.K. festival and club dates with The Hawds. Mark also plays fretless bass, and is a very versatile musician, playing blues, jazz, funk and rock.
GRAHAM BARR – Keyboards. Graham has performed throughout the UK with various groups, most recently the Patsy Gamble Band. He has played at major jazz and blues festivals such as Cheltenham, Gloucester and Upton. Graham is also a talented composer and has written and performed music for BBC documentaries, and theatre and dance productions at The Sage Theatre Gateshead, and the Cheltenham Dance Festival.
MARK BHARUCHA – Drums. Mark Bharucha is one of the most in-demand drummers in the Gloucestershire area, and is currently a member of the house band at the Subtone Club in Cheltenham. He has also played percussion with DJ’s Boy George, Judge Jules and Brandon Block. A master of many styles of drumming, Mark combines superb technique with great feel.
