Wotton Blues Festival postponed
This is the post we did not want to have to make, and you did not want to read.
We have reluctantly decided to postpone the Wotton Blues Festival on 18, 19 and 20 September 2020.
Having reviewed government advice, along with the needs of our supporters and venues, such as shielding, vulnerability and social distancing, we feel it is appropriate to postpone the Festival as it would not be safe to hold it. Given the issues and uncertainty surrounding the impact of COVID-19, and the desire to keep all of our supporters, bands and their families safe, we felt we had no other choice.
However, we are thinking about running a virtual Festival in September featuring, where possible, the bands we had scheduled to play, along with a curated selection of the finest blues tracks. Keep an eye on our social media channels and look out for our email newsletters for updates.
We are already planning for the traditional third weekend in September – 17, 18 and 19 September 2021, to hold the 2021 Wotton Blues Festival – something to look forward to.
In the meantime, we continue to run our Facebook and Twitter pages featuring all that’s best in the blues world.
This is not what we planned, but unfortunately it is a necessity given the world we currently live in. Hopefully, the pandemic will subside soon and we can all safely get back to our lives and social activities.
Thanks, take care, and keep safe.
